PodPonics converts used shipping containers and into modular controlled-environment growth pods. Using containers for this has several advantages, including:

1. Containers are readily available, inexpensive and durable.
2. Recycling existing containers into Grow Pods further reduces our carbon footprint and protects the environment while saving us money.
3. They are uniform in dimension, easy to insulate, and stackable.
4. They are easy to transport and set up and, thanks to their standardized design and construction, each build-out is a common, repeatable process, which leads to efficiencies and economies of scale.

By using containers we are also able to scale capacity flexibly. Furthermore, by using this modular approach, each unit is a self-contained, independent growth environment, which provides fail-safe redundancy. This also allows us to create and control each environment independently and optimize it for whatever crop variant is grown.
